The exhibition brings the cuisine at the time of Ramon Casas to restaurants in Sitges

Twelve restaurants prepare dishes, tapas and beers inspired by the artist.
 

What was the favorite cuisine of Ramon Casas and other modernists? And what did they drink? With the occasion of the exhibition Ramon Casas, a long yearned modernity, Museums of Sitges and Sitges Hospitality Guild designed the campaign Ramon Casas on the palate, which aims to link heritage and gastronomy, highlighting the common links and generate an offer that is both cultural and touristic.
 

The campaign Ramon Casas on the palate based on three choices: food, tapas and beer. Eleven restaurants and a brewery are participating in the initiative, which has as main purpose to enjoy the cuisine at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth century. The campaign begins on Wednesday, November 23, and will be active until the beginning of Christmas on December 18.
 

Ten restaurants have included various proposals in their menus with local culinary flavors, the right option for autumn and early winter. The participating restaurants are La Nansa (Squid maître hotel), La Salseta (two dishes: Catalan stew (Escudella) with truffled stew meatball and Gyoza with beef stew with mashed Escudella strew), La Picara (Bacallà a la llauna or Oven Baked Codfish), Café Bar Roy (Pork tenderloin with fried white beans), La Dehesa Santa Maria (Scallops), Mare Nostrum (Artichokes with hollandaise sauce), Casa Hidalgo (Entrecote maître d'hôtel), Iris Gallery -  Hotel Estela (Italian macaroni flavored with truffle) and Punta de Sitges (Pickled partridge salad).
 

Besides these dishes, another restaurant has joined the initiative: the Incidència del Factor Vi, that offers the Ramon Casas Tapa, baked codfish in cocotte with Santa Pau Beans. La Cerveseria La Sitgetana will water all these proposals with Beer Ramon Casas, made with wormwood and anise, although low alcohol (4,1º).
Prices are varied, depending on each case (the dishes ranging from 7 to 22 Euros), the tapas will cost 9.50 Euros and beer will be worth between 2.80 (small) and 6 Euros (bottle). The campaign is a proposal Museums of Sitges, in collaboration with the Sitges Hospitality Guild and the Sitges City Council, with the support of Grastrotallers or "Gastroshops".
