OctopuSitges 2015 kicks off

Until June 30th, the restaurants belonging to the Sitges Club de Tast Gourmet Food Tasting Club offers a menu featuring octopus, cuttlefish and calamari.


During the entire month of June, octopus, calamari and cuttlefish, accompanied by diverse local produce, will be the stars of thirteen different culinary creations offered by the restaurants belonging to the Sitges Club de Tast Gourmet Food Tasting Club, where you can enjoy highly elaborate, creative, top quality cuisine along with local wines and cavas.

 

Following the Menjar de Tast Gourmet Food Tasting Festival, a benchmark gastronomic event organized by the Club de Tast for over 25 years, the Club takes another step forward and organizes a new format event with the goal of continuing to grow and evolve: “We want to generate new projects that can be enjoyed by the greatest number of people passing through Sitges and who like to eat well”. The chairman of the Club de Tast, Antoni Alemany, explains that with Octopusitges “we propose a gastronomic circuit revolving around three products from the sea, prepared according to the methods and creativity of the chefs from the Club’s restaurants so everyone has a chance to enjoy a small route and try different options from the cuisine created in Sitges”.

 

The 13 gastronomic selections offered by the participating restaurants can be found in a booklet that you can pick up at the Tourist Information Office and the participating restaurants as well. All dishes have a Tasting format (half a regular portion) and can be accompanied by a glass of wine from the Torres Winery or a glass of Torelló cava for the price of 9 Euros.

 

On the other hand, the chairman of the Sitges Hotel and Catering Association, Joan Anton Matas, invites everyone to savor the culinary creations as a part of OctopuSitges, “a new gastronomic formula from the Club de Tast to welcome the summer, featuring  cephalopods as the stars of the kitchens and tables of the Club’s restaurants”.

 

This initiative is organized by the Club de Tast Gourmet Food Tasting Club and the Sitges Hotel and Catering Association and is sponsored by Torres Wineries and Torelló Cavas, in collaboration with the Sitges Town Hall, the Agència de Promoció Turisme de Sitges and Marendins.
