Music Evenings at the Biblioteca Santiago Rusiñol

The cultural programme at the Biblioteca Santiago Rusiñol continues another year with Music Evenings, bringing local talent closer to us in one of its most iconic spaces: terraces.

Programme: 

 

Thursday, 26 June, at 7 pm. – Terraces at the Biblioteca Santiago Rusiñol

Music Evenings 1:  “Combo d’adults”. By students from the Montserrat Almirall Municipal Music School of Sitges (EMMMA). The school is presenting two outfits representing their adult students.

Combo d’adults (adult combo): Music group made up of adult students playing different types of instruments. The outfit consists of drums, a guitar, two bass guitars, three saxes, a clarinet, a violin, two pianos and a singer. Their song-list is varied and includes different styles such as swing, pop and rock.

Conjunt de cajons (set of cajón percussion boxes): A percussion group where the cajón is the instrument in the spotlight, offering flamenco rhythms, rumba and other styles. Made up of four students and their teacher.

 

Thursday, 3 July, at 7 pm. – Terraces at the Biblioteca Santiago Rusiñol

Music Evenings 2:  “Struttin' Trio”. 

Struttin' Trio are a Sitges band devoted to the study and interpretation of different jazz styles from the end of the 20s and early 30s. Featuring a trumpet, a clarinet and a resonator guitar, the trio will be offering a journey through the most important musicians of the period and their personal styles, with a song-list featuring works by Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet through to Bix Beiderbecke and Lester Young.

Struttin' Trio are Marc Marcet (trumpet), Roger Pascual (clarinet) and Lluís Marcet (guitar).

 

Thursday, 10 July, at 7 pm. – Terraces at the Biblioteca Santiago Rusiñol

Music Evenings 3:  “Tecla Duran i Fort (vocals) and Àlex Paco Güell (guitar)”.

Two Sitges artists who will be taking songs in different styles, different languages and from different periods and adapting them to their own very personal style.

A chance to revisit an easy and varied song-list, travelling through different compositions and styles.
